Governor Bandaru Dattatreya inaugurates media centre of International Gita Festival, message of the festival reached abroad only due to efforts of the fourth pillar of democracy

Kurukshetra, December 7, Governor Bandaru Dattatreya said that the efforts of the central and state governments have been successful in reaching the messages of the sacred text Gita to the common people. The festival has now been organized abroad and in the coming time, programs of the festival will also be organized in different countries. The media has played an important role in reaching the message of this festival abroad.

Governor Bandaru Dattatreya was speaking after inaugurating the media center built in the KDP auditorium on the occasion of the International Gita Festival-2023 on Thursday. Earlier, Governor Bandaru Dattatreya and MLA Subhash Sudha inaugurated the media center. The Governor said that Kurukshetra is a center of spirituality, religion and education. The human being considers himself blessed by putting the dust of this great land on his forehead. It is also called the birthplace of ancient Indian culture. Kurukshetra is famous all over the world as a place of penance of sages-munis and gods, karmabhoomi and yajnabhoomi. Journalists are very important members of society. You are well aware of the role of the press in democracy. The press is also called the fourth pillar of democracy. There is no doubt that before the independence of the country, the press played its important role in liberating India and after independence, it proved its usefulness with full power by playing its important role in nation-building.

He said that after the formation of the Kurukshetra Development Board, the work of development of the pilgrimages of 48 kos Kurukshetra land started. According to ancient beliefs, there are hundreds of pilgrimages spread in this area, out of which the board has so far documented about one hundred forty-four (164) pilgrimages. This work of pilgrimage survey is also going on continuously at present. The International Gita Festival will run till December 24 and on December 17, India’s Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar will attend as the chief guest. Kurukshetra is a religious city, karmanagari, holy land and land of salvation. Many artisans from India and abroad are coming to this International Gita Festival. The Gita is being explained in detail to the students by taking it among them. Many programs like Gita Path, Gita Shokochchharan and Sant Sammelan are being organized in this festival. Apart from this, well-known artists on the subject of Gita will also give their presentation. On this occasion, MLA Subhash Sudha of Thanesar, Ambala Divisional Commissioner Renu Fuliya, Deputy Commissioner Shantanu Sharma, Superintendent of Police Surendra Bhooriya, ADC and KDP CEO Akhil Pilani, KDP Honorary Secretary Upendra Singhal, Chairman of 48 Kos Teej Monitoring Committee Madan Mohan Chhabra, KDP Member Ashok Rosa, Dr. Rishipal Mathana, Captain Amarjit Singh, Yudhishthira Bahl were present.
