Handbags, sarees, and suits made from Banarasi fabric are in high demand at the International Gita Mahotsav

Banarasi craftsman Khalikuljama, who came to Kurukshetra from Varanasi, expressed his feelings by saying that the handicrafts fair of the International Gita Festival is the best handicrafts fair in the whole of India. There is always excitement in the mind to come to this fair. This fair is the best in the country in terms of cleanliness, security and arrangements. That’s why I feel like coming to this fair again and again. I have brought Banarasi handbags for the daughters and women of the state in this festival. The price of these handbags has been fixed from Rs 50 to Rs 150. However, I have also brought Banarasi sarees and suits especially for women.

Craftsman Khalikuljama has decorated Banarasi handbags for daughters at stall number 64 at the International Gita Festival-2023. He said that he has been coming to the International Gita Mahotsav since 2015. Craftsmen from all over the country are excited to come to this festival. Many times, due to the large number of applicants, his turn could not come, but this time he has got the opportunity to come to the Gita Festival once again from the NCDC. His Banarasi fabric making craftsmanship is hereditary and he himself has been making Banarasi fabric since 2012 and since then he has been bringing Banarasi sarees, clothes, suits and dupattas to this festival.

He said that he has brought Banarasi sarees, suits, dupattas, dining table runners made from Banarasi fabric especially for this festival. He has brought Banarasi handbags made from Banarasi fabric for the first time in this festival and their prices have also been fixed only from Rs 50 to Rs 150. The prices of Banarasi sarees are from Rs 800 to Rs 4500 and the prices of suits are kept around Rs 1250. Tourists can easily buy products made from Banarasi fabric at these prices. He said that millions of tourists visit this festival and they like his products with great relish. There was also good sales in the festival last year.
